Thomas R. Jahns, Alaska Pest
Management Program Coordinator. Dr. Jahns
serves on the Alaska Pest Management Advisory Committee, to help coordinate pest
management information and the current status of the Food Quality Protection Act for the
people of Alaska. Tom was the state liaison
representative for the old Alaska Pesticide Impact Assessment Program for two
years, and for the past three years has been the new Alaska Pest Management Program
Coordinator, under the direction of the Western Region Pest Management Center. He has been a Land Resources District Extension
Agent with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service since 1994,
working in the areas of agronomy and pest management on Alaskas Kenai Peninsula.
Janice I. Chumley, Alaska Pest
Management Program Assistant and seasonal IPM Pest Scout for the University of
Alaska-Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, on the Kenai Peninsula. Ms. Chumley has worked on developing and updating
crop profiles for Alaska since 1999. She
continues to update crop profiles, network with inter/intra state pest management partners
and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Alaska Pest Management
Programs state pesticide informational web page.
