PESTICIDE SAFETY TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES 2009
PSEP conducts workshops and self paced training materials for persons seeking DEC
pesticide applicator certification and re-certification. Initial certification requires a
two-day workshop. Re-certification workshops can be one day. A list of
pesticide training materials and a schedule of coming workshops are posted on this page.

ANCHORAGE
Initial Pesticide Applicator Certification Workshop

Initial Certification of ALL Categories. Monday April 20 and
Tuesday April 21, 2009 held at the Anchorage Cooperative Extension Office 2221 E. Northern
Lts. Blvd. Suite 118 from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Pre-registration is required and
materials must be picked up prior to classes. Fee is $30.00 Call 786-6300 to

DELTA JUNCTION
Initial and Re-Certification Category 2, 3, 4, and 9. Tuesday
March 31 and Wednesday April 1, 2009 held at Delta CES Conference Room - Jarvis Office
Center. Call the Cooperative Extension Service office at 895-4215 to register.
Pre-registeration is required, Fee is $30.00
Wood Preservative - Category 13. Training will be a one day
workshop on Monday March 30, 2009 held at the Delta CES Conference Room - Jarvis Office
Center. Call the Cooperative Extension Service office at 895-4215 to register.

COPPER RIVER/MAT-SU
Initial Certification and Re-Certification Categories 2, 3, 4, 7, &
9. Monday April 6th for initial and Tuesday April 7th for re-certification.
Classes are held at the Palmer Cooperative Extension office 809 S. Chugach Suite 2.
Pre-registration is required. Call 745-3360 to register. Fee is $30.00
KENAI PENINSULA
Initial and Re-Certification Category 2, 3, 4 and 9. Monday April
13 and Tuesday April 14, 2009 held at the Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Extension
Office on K-Beach Rd. in Soldotna. Classes will be from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM with lunch
break. Call the Cooperative Extension Service office at 262-5824 to register.
Pre-registration is required. Fee is $30.00
KODIAK
Initial and Re-Certification Category 2, 3, 4 and 9. Thursday
April 16 and Friday April 17, 2009 held at the Kodiak Soil & Water Conservation
District office. Classes will be from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a lunch break.

FAIRBANKS
Initial and Re-Certification All Categories. Tuesday May 12 and
Wednesday May 13, 2009 held at the Cooperative Extension Service Office,
University Park Bldg. Classes will be held from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM both days with a
break for lunch. Call the Cooperative Extension Service office at 474-2423 to
register. Pre-registration is required.

Fairbanks, Pesticide Safety Education Program in Delta Junction (phone number 895-4215)
for information on self paced study. PSEP workshops and self paced study require an
approved, monitored administration of the DEC pesticide applicator certification exam.
There is an annual $25.00 DEC fee to maintain your certification, DEC will mail you an
invoice for this fee.
